Ronnie Grandison
Founder

Coach Ronnie Grandison has been training and teaching kids basketball in the Cincinnati area for over 20 years. Ronnie is a former NBA player and has played with the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks.  He also played NCAA Division 1 Basketball for the University of New Orleans.  At New Orleans, Ronnie led the Privateers to their first Division 1 “Big Dance” tournament appearance and a NCAA Division 1 top 20 ranking.  Ronnie played professionally in the CBA where, in 1994, he was voted Most Valuable Player. He has played basketball all over the world: Spain, Venezuela, the Philippines, Israel, and Australia, and others. Ronnie has a passion for teaching basketball and the principles of life through the game.

Torry Cornett
Operations Manager

Torry is a native of Columbus, Ohio and brings a wealth of knowledge in the field of athletics. Torry received the rare opportunity to play both Division I Football and Basketball. In 2005, he started shooting guard for Prairie View A&M University and later transferred to the University of Cincinnati where he started linebacker in the 2009 Fed Ex Orange Bowl. Torry later played professional football in the German Football League for two seasons.

Torry’s athletics administration experience was developed as he spent 5 years working in Higher Education Administration at Mount St. Joseph University for 2 years and 3 years working in the Athletics Department at the University of Cincinnati as the Associate Director of Student Athlete Support Services. Torry also spent time as a high school basketball coach and Director of Athletics at DePaul Cristo Rey High School. In his free time Torry enjoys helping parents get their students recruited for college, the real estate industry, and spending time with his two children and lovely wife.

Addison Bess
Basketball League Director

Addison is a native of Middletown, Ohio, where she played basketball through high school. A Sport Management graduate from Mount St. Joseph University, she has extensive experience in youth sports, collegiate athletics, and event operations.
She has coached 4th grade boys’ basketball at St. Teresa Elementary School, worked as a youth sports official and program coordinator at the YMCA, and helped lead youth sports programs that build skills, teamwork, and confidence for young athletes. At the collegiate level, Addison served as Women’s Basketball Team Manager at Mount St. Joseph University, supporting game-day logistics and team operations, and additionally served as Game-Day Operations Assistant. She has also assisted with large-scale events, including guest services and operations at the Cincinnati Open.
In her free time, Addison enjoys practicing mindfulness, staying active, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Ronni Grandison
Director Girls Basketball

Coach Ronni is the second daughter of Coach Ronnie Grandison. She developed a passion for basketball at a young age, going on to play varsity for Lakota West High School. After graduating, she continued her basketball career playing NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Massachusetts and New Jersey Institute of Technology.

She has earned her bachelor's degree in science, technology, & society, and has remained connected to the game through coaching, including serving as the assistant women's basketball coach at Malone University, bringing them to their first NCAA Tournament. She hopes to continue coaching, and to help others discover and develop their love for basketball.

Jamison Bradley
Coach/Trainer

Jamison Bradley is a passionate and accomplished basketball player with a proven track record of success at every level he's competed. A high school state champion from Lima Central Catholic, Jamison continued his career at Miami University–Hamilton, where he was a two-time USCAA All-American and helped lead his team to a national runner-up finish. Known for his strong leadership, work ethic, and high basketball IQ, he averaged over 16 points and 5 rebounds per game while maintaining a commitment to team-first play.

Jamison brings not only his playing experience but also a deep understanding of player development, discipline, and teamwork. He’s excited to inspire the next generation of athletes and help them grow both on and off the court.

Gordon Smith
Coach, Community Engagement

Gordon has had a lifelong love of sports that's led him to a passion for coaching. He began playing basketball in middle school for Fairfield Township. He graduated from Fairfield High School, and is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education. Gordon has served as a head coach for West Clermont Middle School's Boys Basketball team, as well as for Fairfield Township Basketball and Fairfield SAY Soccer.
Gordon is passionate about his family, community and youth sports. He looks forward to continue coaching and mentoring the next generation of athletes.

Derrick Roland
Coach/Trainer

Derrick is a Texas A&M graduate with a distinguished basketball career, including four years of collegiate competition, All-Big 12 honors, and four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. His professional experience spans seven years, with a career that has taken him both domestically and internationally, competing in the NBA G League, Central America, South America, and Europe.
Most recently, Derrick served as the Director of Men’s Basketball Skill Development & Personnel in the NCAA, in addition to coaching as an Assistant at both Marietta College and Chadron State College (2023-24). His passion is advancing player performance through purposeful skill development, creating high-intensity, competitive training environments, and employing strategic coaching to help athletes reach their fullest potential.

Pam Busam 
Executive Assistant

Pam is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Mount Notre Dame High School and the University of Cincinnati.
She has known her husband since her senior year of high school and they have 3 wonderful kids and 7 amazing grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and going to their grandkids sporting events and spending time with them.

Pam worked for Kids First for 21 years and that is where she met Ronnie in 2002. "When I was getting ready to retire from Kids First Ronnie asked me if I would like to work with him at RG Sports Academy. I jumped at the opportunity, and we have been great working partners since."
